A new term has begun. Teachers are   1  about the fact that new students are not easy to deal with(對付). They like to bring telephones(手機) and MP3 players to school. In every little girl's toy box. there might be a Barbie Doll. Barbie is 50 years old this, year. It was designed(設(shè)計)in 1959 by an American businesswoman named Ruth Handler. She and her husband Elliott started the toy company Mattel. She named the new doll after their daughter Barbara. The first Barbie Doll appeared at the toy fair(交易會)New York on March 9th, 1959. A little boy invited his mother to attend his school’s first teacher-parent meeting. To the little boy’s disappointment,she said she would go.
