As a kid, everyone wants to learn how to ride a bike. Here is some advice to_1_ you be on your way.
The bike. Start with a bicycle and it’s small enough for your feet to touch the _2_. If you lose your balance, you can put your feet to the ground _3_.
Training grounds. You need a big place for the first part of your practice. Be sure to wear something to keep _4_.
Keeping your balance. It’s very important to learn how to keep your balance. You may practice this easily. _5_ your bike to the higher place. Sit on the bike seat  _6_both feet on the ground. Lift both feet a few inches to let the bike roll down. If you start to fall, just put your feet on the ground. Try practicing this several times _7_ you get your balance.
Pedaling(踩動). After you get your balance, it’s time to _8_ learning how to pedal. Start by sitting on the bike seat. With your left foot on the ground and your right foot on the pedal, then push _9_ on the pedal. Push off with your left foot. Keep on practicing until you learn it well.

A little boy invited his mother to attend his school’s first teacher-parent meeting. To the little boy’s disappointment,she said she would go. This   16   be the first time that his classmates and teacher   17   his mother and he felt ashamed of her   18  . As darkness fell, hundreds of people in the Swiss village left their houses. They were staring（注視）forward at the mountain top in the distance. It was covered with ice and snow－beautiful and dangerous.
The huge mountain is called Matterhorn. Mountain climbers had  40 the top through the southem route（路線）. But no one had ever dared to try a winter climbing up the northern side. But now one man was daring to try the  41 route. He was Walter Bonatti, a great mountain climber  42 Italy.
For two days he had climbed. The village people had watched him anxiously（焦慮）. Now they were waiting to see his signal. If he planned to  43 the next day, he would light（點(diǎn)燃）a green signal（信號）. A red light would mean that he was turning back.

Bonatti had spent months  49 for the climb. Was the training enough? Did he have the strength and skill to climb to the top?
He was finally at the top! News about his.   50 was radioed to the world.
The trip down the southern route was easy. He was warmly welcomed in the village. He had done the “  51 ” and would be well remembered as a climber of all time.
