閱讀下列短文,從每題所給的四個選項(A、B、C和D)中,選出最佳選項。
Scientists recently found three animal species living two miles below the surface of the Mediterranean Sea, where the super-salty waters don’t have oxygen(氧). They’re multicellular(多細(xì)胞的), which means their bodies have many cells. They each are as small as a large grain of sand. But they are animals.
The most exciting thing about these creatures, say the scientists, is that they obviously don’t need oxygen to live. What biologists know about life so far is that only single-celled living things can live in places that have no oxygen, and that multicellular organisms(有機(jī)物) can visit these places, but not live there. These newly found creatures could change that idea.
Finding animals down there was so surprising that the scientists couldn’t believe it. At first, “we thought they were dead bodies,” Roberto Danovaro, a scientist at the Polytechnic University of Marche in Ancona, Italy, told Science News. To find out whether the animals could actually live there Danovaro and his colleagues brought up more samples(樣本) from the ocean floor. Studying the animals in the new samples showed that they appeared to be alive.
The researchers did more tests, and found that some of the animals had eggs—which suggests they were reproducing(繁殖). Also in the samples were old skins, suggesting that the animals had lived there long enough to grow. Finally, pictures taken showed that the insides of the animals appear to be adapted to live in an environment that has no oxygen.
These clues suggest the animals don’t need oxygen, but the evidence(證據(jù)) is indirect, which means that scientists still have not observed how the animals live without oxygen. This means more studies are needed, but the scientists think they’re on the right track. And if they’re right, biologists will need to rethink what they know about where animals live.
1.What excited the scientists most is that ______.
A.they found three animal species visit the salty water under the Mediterranean Sea
B.single-celled animals can live in super-salty waters
C.the tiny animals have many cells
D.three kinds of animals can live in places that have no oxygen
2.The underlined phrase in Paragraph 2 means the scientists could think _____.
A.only single-celled creatures don’t need oxygen to live
B.multicellular animals can visit the super-salty waters
C.the newly found creatures can’t live in the super-salty waters
D.multicellular animals also can live without oxygen besides single-celled ones
3.Which of the following CAN’T be used to prove the newly found creatures can live in super-salty waters?
A.Their dead bodies are found there.
B.Some in the samples have eggs.
C.Some old skins are found in the samples.
D.The pictures of their insides have been taken.
4.More studies are needed to prove_____.
A.where single-celled animals can live
B.how the newly found animals live without oxygen
C.whether the multicellular creatures can live underwater
D.why the super-salty waters have no oxygen

閱讀下列短文,從每題所給的四個選項A、B、C和D中,選出最佳選項。
A news release is a tool of communication, through which information is passed to even the farthest end of the world. It keeps us well informed of the happenings of the world which would otherwise remain unknown.
When writing a news release, keep in mind that the media receive hundreds of releases every day.Try to follow these guidelines:Keep it short and professional.Come up with a catchy headline that will grasp someone's attention.Sometimes the title will take more time to come up with than writing the release. That's okay-the headline could be critical for getting an event covered!
Cover the 5 W's in your first paragraph. Those are who you are; what you are doing;where, when you are doing;why you are doing it,which help us understand the details about the event.Besides, any opinions in the news release should be put in quotations from your designated spokesperson.Include things that the media finds newsworthy, which is the most essential.
Make the time on your news release at least half an hour later than the time you have told activists to show up at an event. This will ensure that activists are prepared and in place by the time the media arrive.
Choose a spokesperson for the event who can be quoted in the release and will be available for calls at that number the day before the event.
Have someone proof the release for spelling, grammar and content(determine whether what you are trying to relay is clear and right).Sometimes the person who writes the release may not notice mistakes that a fresh pair of eyes will catch.
Accuracy is the last but not least important in terms of your content and the location and time that you tell the media. If you do make a mistake,it is critical that you call and notify the media of the correction.
1.What's the main purpose of the passage?
A.To tell us the importance of the news release.

C.To make us know how to make the news release.
D.To ask us to read news release on the latest events.

根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,從短文后的選項中選出能填入空白處的最佳選項。選項中有兩項為多余選項。
The Internet has opened up a whole new online world for us to meet, chat and go where we’ve never been before.
But just as in face to face communication, there are some rules of behavior that should be followed when on line. 1. Imagine how you’d feel if you were in the other person’s shoes.
For anything you’re about to send: ask yourself, “Would I say this to the person’s face?” if the answer is no, rewrite and reread. 2.
If someone in the chat room is rude to you, your instinct (本能) is to fire back in the same manner. But try not to do so. 3.If it was caused by a disagreement with another member, try to fix the situation by politely discussing it. Remember to respect the beliefs and opinions of others in the chat room.
4. Offer advice when asked by newcomers, as they may not be sure what to do or how to communicate. When someone makes a mistake, whether it’s a stupid question or an unnecessarily long answer, be kind about it. If it’s a small mistake, you may not need to say anything. Even if you feel strongly about it, think twice before saying anything. Having good manners yourself doesn’t give you license to correct everyone else. 5.At the same time, if you find you are wrong, be sure to correct yourself and apologize to those that you have offended.
It is not polite to ask others personal questions such as their age, sex and marital status. Unless you know the person very well, and you are both comfortable with sharing personal information, don’t ask such questions.
A. It’s natural that there some people who speak rudely or make mistakes online.
B. Repeat the process till you feel sure that you’d feel comfortable saying the words to the person’s face.
C. Everyone was new to the network once.
D. The basic rule is simple: treat others in the same way you would want to be treated.
E. When you send short messages to a person online, you must say something beautiful to hear.
F. You should either ignore the person, or use your chat software to block their messages.
G. If you do decide to tell someone about a mistake, point it out politely.
