Childish Voice

When I was a young child, my parents often told me that it was time to teach a man everything. I didn’t understand and wondered why   36   had such a big influence   37   a person. I thought I could grow up quickly to find it out as an adult. But now,   38   I come to knock at the door of adulthood, I feel   39   to express my own   40    on this saying. I know that I’m just a high school student with very   41   experiences. There are still many things   42   me in the future, yet I would like to express myself in a childish voice.

I once read this sentence: “To make this world a happy place to live, you’d better   43   youreself and your heart , instead of the whole world.” I was shocked. It made me think about life   44   . There are so many things around us that    45    our will. We can’t force life    46    our wishes. The earth won’t stop turning no matter whether we   47   it or not. What we can do is just to make ourselves  48   the world. I think we should learn to accept   49   life gives us, no matter whether it’s the spring sunlight or the winter snowfall, and try to be happy.

Deeply moved by the pop song Grandmother (by Jay Chou), I always try to   50   every pleasant thing in my life, but now I see I don’t catch most of the pleasant moments. It is more   51   that they slip by and leave you feeling   52   . I realize that I’m not just living   53   myself and that there are the others around me I should think of .They all pay attention to my growing up, even if it’s just a little progress.

Everyone has his or her own attitude towards life, be it positive or   54    . It doesn’t matter, I think. There is one   55   that should be obeyed—and that’s to make this world better.

have a/an …influence on sb./sth.“…

39. A。 anxious“渴望的”,be anxious to do…;worried“焦急的”;tired“疲倦的”;glad“興奮的”。

40.B.此句是說作者想要發(fā)表自己的觀點(diǎn)(…it was time to teach a man everything)。Beliefs“信任, 信心, 信仰”;confidence“信心”;expression“表達(dá), 表情”。

42.A. stick with“忠心于”;deal with“處理,對待,涉及”;do with“處理”,均不符合題意。

Force sb. to do sth.,此處是說明一個道理。

No dish suits all tastes. vi.合適, 適當(dāng);相稱; 彼此協(xié)調(diào)(to, with) The job suits with his abilities. Which date suits best? The shoes adapt me well. match 指“大小、色調(diào)、形狀、性質(zhì)等相配或相稱”, 如:A red jacket doesn't match green trousers.

49.A. 后面的no matter…

50.B.見后文的…but now I see I don’t catch…推知。

51.B.此句是It is likely (adj.) that+從句。

52.A.那快樂溜掉,只留下自己遺憾,而不是awful(可怕的);successful(成功的);terrible(可怕的)。

No word has come from the battle front. I hope you will always respect your word.

Children have their own rules in playing games. They seldom need a referee(裁判) and rarely trouble to keep scores. They don’t care much about who wins or loses, and it doesn’t seem to worry them if the game is not finishedYet, they like games that depend a lot on luck, so that their personal abilities cannot be directly comparedThey also enjoy games that move in stages, in which each stage, the choosing of leaders, the picking-up of sides, or the determining of which side shall start, is almost a game in itself.

Grown-ups can hardly find children’s games exciting, and they often feel puzzled at why their kids play such simple games again and again. However, it is found that a child plays games for very important reasons. He can be a good player without having to think whether he is a popular person, and he can find himself being a useful partner to someone of whom he is ordinarily afraidHe becomes a leader when it comes to his turn. He can be confident, too, in particular games, that it is his place to give orders, to pretend to be dead, to throw a ball actually at someone, or to kiss someone he has caught.

It appears to us that when children play a game they imagine a situation under their control. Everyone knows the rules, and more importantly, everyone plays according to the rules. Those rules may be childish, but they make sure that every child has a chance to win.
