     Chen Yan has been restless since he learned a 7.3-magnitude earthquake happened in Haiti. Several
hours later, a friend in the National Earthquake Disaster Relief Team called, telling him about the terrible

collapsed (坍塌). Although all the peacekeepers were involved in the rescue operation, it proved
ineffective because of the lack of equipment. Only one hospital still operated and people were scared.

feel better.
      * Dress smartly.  This will give you confidence.
      * Once you are up on stage,  pick out the most friendly face in the audience.  Look into the person's
eyes from time to time and speak as if you are talking directly to that person.
        * Write down the key points of your speech on small cards.  But don't hold your notes in your
hand.  Put them on a table near you instead.
        * If you are trembling,  stand against a table or move your legs and move about a little.
