How do you feel when you are fooled by others? No doubt, feel bad. There is nothing worse than falling for a joke and being a fool except one day. Yes, that’s Fools’ Day. Nobody will be angry to be an “April Fool”. 1.
The headmaster at my school decided to play an April Fools’ joke on the students when I was in high school. On March 31, she announced that our school would hold a “Dress to Impress (加深印象) day”. 2.
Girls were told to wear formal dresses and smart jackets, while a suit jacket and tie for each boy would be the best. And the teachers, we were told, would do the same.
On April Fools’ Day, many of us students came to school dressed in our best clothes. 3. In the morning, all of us got together on the playground, waiting for the headteacher. She would speak to the students. 4. Instead, she wore jeans, running shoes and a T-shirt. The other teachers also got dressed casually (隨意地) like her.
“April Fools!” she said with a big smile on her face. “We just want to remind you that teachers have a sense of humor, too!”
Surely, all the teachers weren’t April Fools. 5.

We live on a farm in Alaska. There are many wild animals in the quiet countryside there. One winter night, while walking outside with my son, Joe, I heard a cry.
A young fox was hurt. Every time she wanted to stand up, she fell back to the ground. We took her home, and on the way home we named her Vicky.
After a few days, Vicky began to eat and was more active. We opened the cage door and let her play in the house. Vicky stood, lost her balance and fell, and tried again. “Oh, Mom,” Joe said, “She’s so brave, and keeps trying.” After a few more tries, Vicky could stand, and later moved freely in the house.
One day I saw her walk to the door and take a breath(呼吸)of the outside air. I knew she wanted to go back to the wild. So we drove her to the forest.
“ Vicky ”, I said, stopping my car for a goodbye, ‘‘ look after yourself. ’’ She barked (叫)at me, the only time I heard her bark. Then she ran into the trees.
