Going to the Library

The library is a great place to visit for help with schoolwork. It opens up new worlds, makes you imagine, encourages reading and helps you in school and in life. But the library isn't just about reading and learning. You can have fun in the library, too. Some libraries hold fun events for children, such as story telling, making things and book hunting. And when you, to your library, there is always someone there to help you find what you want. That someone is a librarian.

You can ask your librarian to help you find books about any subject that interests you. Libraries have books about everything from planes to zebras. If you like to read fiction(虛構(gòu)小說), your librarian can suggest(建議)adventure books, fantasy books and many more. If you are having hard time finding an answer to a question, ask your librarian to help you find the answer. Your librarian can help you locate(定位)information in magazines and newspapers, and on the computer.

Libraries are also great places to go if you want a quiet and relaxing place to read or study. They have areas with cozy chairs where you can curl up(蜷縮)and read a book. They also have tables and chairs where you can work on school reports. And most libraries have lots of bright reading areas, so you won't hurt your eves by closely looking at that tiny print.

Don't forget to visit your library and make sure to thank your librarian for his/her help.

You must think a computer is the best thing in the world, right? You must think it works at a super speed and can do everything? Well, it's not! In fact, the brain is much more powerful than any super computer! Think about when a glass is just about to fall off the table. Your brain controls everything that you need to do to save that glass from falling. First your eyes check out what's going on, then tell your brain, `and your brain decides how quickly you need to react, and then your muscles go into action. This is just from your brain. No computer could ever come close to that!

The brain weighs just 3 pounds; but is controls everything you do from thinking, learning, feeling even to breathing and your heart beating. Even though the brain is just 2% of your body weight, it uses around 20% of all your energy in your body. That is a lot for such a small organ (器官),There are about 100 billion tiny, tiny little cells(細胞)in your brain. There are so many that it would take you over 3,000 years to count them all!

Your brain stops growing when you're -18, but it actually keeps on developing and learning new things. So your parents are really super smart! You' won't be able to fool them! Believe it or not, your brain NEVER stops working. Even during sleep, the brain works for long-term memory establishment(建立). It is realized that the brain is the second organ in the body as the heart that never stops during human live.

So everyone should be proud of such a gift of nature.
