We drink and use water every day． Where can we find water？ Why do we say water is very important？ Why is it so important to save（節(jié)約）water？

Water is very important to living things． Without water there can be no life on Earth． All animals and plants need water． Man also needs water． We need water to drink， to cook our food and to clean ourselves．

Water is almost everywhere． It covers（覆蓋）about 70% of the earth． It is in seas， rivers， lakes， streams and wells（溪流和井）． Even in the driest part of the world there is water in the air． You cannot see it or feel it when it is part of the air． The water in seas， lakes and streams is a liquid（液體）． Clouds are made of water too． They may be made of small drops（滴）of water． They may also be made of snow crystals（晶體）．

However， most of water on the earth is seawater． We cannot drink or use it． We can only drink or use less than 1% of the water．

So we may say that we are now living in a thirsty world． That's why we must save water and keep it clean．
