Today it is found that most middle school students pay little attention to sports. It’s because they have no interest in sports? It may not be the fact.
They often say they have other more important things to do. What are these important things? Exams! They usually spend over ten hours a day revising for exams. So many of them almost become bookworms. In the summer holidays they could hardly do anything they like. Books ①____ them from taking part in sports. Because of the stress from their parents and teachers, ②他們不得不更加努力學習.
As for the students themselves, they want to get good results so that they can go further for their studies. ③They don’t have to put all their effort into studying and give up all the sports and hobbies. In fact, education cannot go without physical exercise, because a quick mind hardly goes along a week body.
All the students should remember: If you don’t have a strong body, you can never achieve anything, let alone a great success in your life.

It usually takes them more than ten hours to revise for exams.

1.stop
2.They have to work harder.
4.They usually spend over ten hours a day revising for exams.
5.If you don’t have a strong body, you can never achieve anything, let alone a great success in your life.

2. 不得不have to … They have to work harder.
3. don’t have to表示沒有必要, put…effort into…
They usually spend over ten hours a day revising for exams。
5. 本題考主旨句,根據(jù)All the students should remember(所有的學生必須記。┛芍挛木褪俏恼碌闹行模篒f you don’t have a strong body, you can never achieve anything, let alone a great success in your life.(如果你沒有強健的身體,你將永不能成就任何事,更不用說是取得生活當中巨大的成功了)。

Want to say "hello" from Disneyland? Send a post card!
Beautiful scenes of paradise (樂園), wild animals, silly pictures — you can find them all in one place. Where? On a post card! Have people always sent post cards? No. Before post cards, people liked sealed letters.
The idea for the first decorated (裝飾) post card came to John P. Charlton in 1861. He thought a simple card with decorations would be a great way to send a note. Then in the late 1800s, post cards with pictures appeared. By law, people had to write their note on the front ——on the picture! The back was only for the address. Several years later, England allowed a divided-back post card. Then people could write their note on the back left side and put the address on the right. During the early 1900s, the golden age of post cards, picture post cards became a craze of the world. In 1908, Americans alone mailed over 677 million post cards. Today, post cards are the third most popular collection in the world after stamps and coins.

Steven Cleaver has some outdoor activity ideas for families. The activities will drive your family’s sadness away. Steven is the Executive Director(執(zhí)行理事)of Horizons for Youth, an organization in Massachusetts that has worked on children’s enviromental education for more than 60 years.
We asked Steven to share some outdoor activities that families can do together. Here’s what he told us.
Going to a nature center---In State Audubon societies, there are usually smaller nature centres. Naturalists are ready to answer kids’ questions so parents don’t need to worry about teaching the subject matter themselves.
Hiking---Going on a hike is a great way to go outdoors and get some exercise. State parks can offer free paths to hike along and many fields to explore.
Gardening--- Gardening is a wonderful family activity. Not only can the whole family get involved, but everyone can benefit from the harvest. Since it’s winter, you might just start with a family plan for the garden. The garden can be a cooperative effort where parents can teach their children teamwork. Assign tasks to each family member. Who plans? Who waters?
Fruit picking---It’s a great seasonal outdoor activity. Children get to see how fruits grow and everyone gets to enjoy the fruits which they pick.
Cleaning up---Taking part in nature clean-ups or volunteering to do path maintenance(維護)teaches kids that they have the ability to do something positive for the environment and communities. When parents get involved, they can set a good example for their children to follow, which will help children realize their responsibility to protect the environment.

Japanese children are so happy because they have three festivals each year. Including Boy’s day, they have Girl’s day and the 7-5-3 Festival.
May 5th is Japanese Children’s Day. But since the festival is mainly celebrated by boys, it is usually called Boy’s day. On Boy’s day, children don’t have to go to school. Each family with a boy hangs up huge carp-shaped flags(鯉魚旗). The flags are usually with three colors: black (standing for the father), red (standing for the mother), and blue (standing for the son). 1) Japanese parents believe that the flags will bring their boys good luck and give them courage and power.
Girl’s day is a girls’ festival on March 3rd. It is also called the Doll’s Festival because on that day, families get a set of dolls at home for their daughters. It is celebrated because the parents want their children to be strong and healthy.
