Light and Reflection
Light is another type of wave that carries energy. A source of light (光源) such as the sun or a light bulb gives off light rays that travel away from the light source in all directions.
A light ray is a narrow beam (光束) of light that travels in a straight line.
Most objects around you do not give off light on their own. They can be seen only if the light from another source bounces off (反彈) them and into your eyes. The process of light hitting an object and bouncing off is called reflection.
Look at the picture. The light is given off by the light bulb. Some of these light rays hit the page and are reflected (反射). The student sees the page when some of the reflected light rays enter the student’s eyes.
When a light ray hits a surface (表面) and is reflected, the reflected ray obeys the law of reflection. The angle of incidence (入射角) is always the same as the angle of reflection. This is the law of reflection. And this is true for any surface, no matter what material it is made of.
【1】From the passage we know __________ is a source of light.
A. the eyes B. the moon C. the sun D. the book
【2】From the passage we know that because of __________, the student can see the page.
A. the light bulb B. the book C. the light waves D. the reflected rays
【3】According the last paragraph, if the angle of incidence is 35°, the angle of reflection should be _____.
A. 15° B. 35° C. 55° D. 70°
【答案】
【1】C
【2】D
【3】B
根據短文中的句子“A source of light (光源) such as the sun or a light bulb gives off light rays that travel away from the light source in all directions.”可知,太陽是光源的一種,故答案為C。
【2】細節(jié)理解題。根據短文中的句子“The student sees the page when some of the reflected light rays enter the student’s eyes.”可知,,學生看到這個頁面是由于一些反射光進入學生的眼睛。故答案為D。
【3】B
細節(jié)理解題。根據短文最后一段中的句子“The angle of incidence (入射角) is always the same as the angle of reflection. This is the law of reflection.”可知,入射角總是與反射角相同。入射角為35°,反射角也為35°,故答案為B。

【題目】 A learning style is a way of learning. Your preferred learning style is the way in which YOU learn best. Three learning styles that are often discovered in students are Type 1—the Auditory Learning Style, Type 2—the Tactile Learning Style, and Type 3—the Visual Learning Style. Read about each of these learning styles to find out YOUR preferred learning style.
Type 1: Auditory Learners learn best when information is presented in an auditory language form. Does listening to audio tapes help you learn better? Do you seem to learn best in classes in which special importance is given to teacher lectures and class discussions? Do you find yourself reading aloud or talking things out to get a better understanding? If YES, you are probably an Auditory Learner.
Type 2: Tactile Learners learn best in hands-on learning settings in which they can physically control something in order to learn about it. Do you learn best when you can move about and handle things? Do you do well in classes in which there is a lab part? Do you learn better when you have a real object in your hands rather than a picture of the object or a spoken or written description of it? If YES, you are probably a Tactile Learner.
Type 3: Visual Learners learn best when information is presented in a written language form or in another visual form such as pictures or maps. Do you try to remember information by creating pictures in your mind? Do you take detailed written notes from your textbooks and in class? If YES, you are probably a Visual Learner.
Your learning style is your strength. Go with it whenever you can. When you can choose a class, try to choose one that draws heaviest on your learning style.
