Cathy decided to ride her bike earlier than usual one morning. She wasn't alone on the road. She waved to several friends. On her way home, she felt something was wrong with her bike. She came to a stop and checked her bike. One of its tires（輪胎）was broken. Cathy was close enough to her apartment to walk the rest of the way. As she walked by the corner, she stopped and bought a paper as usual.

A photo on the front page of the newspaper caught her attention. The photo was of a large group of people, of all ages, riding bicycles. The sentences under the photo explained the picture. A bicycle club was riding through the city. They would be staying in town overnight. Cathy opened the newspaper. She found an article about the photo Cathy began to read:

Soldier Field will be home for more than fifty bike riders today. They will stay tonight and then leave to finish their trip.

The club, called the Pedalers, was set up. three years ago by Mike and Rose Genn.

The club takes short day trips each weekend of the year. There are also longer trips lo interesting places. These trips take hours of planning. The bikers must work hard to build their strength for long trips. They must be able to ride eighty to one hundred miles a day The club members like to meet people when they stay in a city. The public is invited to talk with members of the club while they are in town.

Cathy closed the paper and folded it. As she walked her bike back home, she decided that she would spend some time talking to the members of the Pedalers.
