My mother was telling me about how she and her family got their first television when she was a teenager. Of course it was black and white. She said she only watched it at night. When I was young we had only about 3 or 4 different channels(頻道). My bothers, my sisters and I would sometimes fight about which channel to watch. But we usually enjoyed the same shows.

Nowadays we can get hundreds of channels on TV. There are channels with old films, cooking, fishing and so on. It's amazing! I wonder how much my bothers, my sisters and I would fight if we had hundreds of channels when I was a child. Of course we had only one television set. These days I notice families with 2 or 3 or more television sets in their homes. I guess it keeps people from arguing(吵架) over which channel to choose.

1.In the old days, what kind of television sets did people only have?

A. Black and white ones. B. Color ones.

C. All kinds of television sets. D. Both A and B.

2.My mother watched TV _____ when she was young.

A. in the morning B. in the afternoon C. at night D. at noon

3.Nowadays, how many channels can we get on TV?

A. 3 or 4 different channels. B. only one channel.

C. Hundreds of channels. D. Several channels.

4.When I was a teenager, my brothers, my sisters and I usually enjoyed _____.

A. four shows B. the same shows

C. different shows D. hundreds of shows

5.Which of the following is NOT true?

A. My brothers, my sisters and I would sometimes fight about which channel to watch when I was a child.

B. These days, there is only one channel with old films, cooking and fishing.

C. People have many channels to choose now.

D. These days some families have 2 or 3 or more television sets in their homes.

閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容完成句子。

Have you ever thought about making a bicycle that you dream of? Some creative people have invented some special bicycles. Here are three of them.

Bambikes

Bambikes are produced in a company in Philippines. They are made of an unusual kind of bamboo and other materials like metal and a local plant. They are very strong. And they are a perfect combination (結合) of the greenest building material and common bicycles. By making bambikes, the company offers jobs to the local people. Besides, it provides money for some students in its community to pay for their study. To continue the production, the company plants more bamboo than it cuts.

The heaviest bicycle

A German cycling lover, Frank Dose, has recently made the world’s heaviest bicycle with big old wheels and lots of other waste materials. He created it just because he made a bet (打賭) with his friend. The bicycle weighed 1.08 tones. It broke the world record of its kind in weight. Frank said his bicycle was surprisingly easy to ride although it had a huge size and weighed a lot. He rode it in front of 5,000 people for over 100 meters to prove it.

Twisted (變形的) bicycles

Two brothers in France created a bike that looks strange to ride and twists in the middle. Riders can make tight turns (急轉彎). The brothers say the bicycle is hard to ride so it can stop people from stealing it. In fact, it isn’t as hard to control as you think. It takes a day or two to get used to the crazy way of riding. It’s amazing. So far, there have been 30 of the bicycles, but they are not for sale yet.

1.Some creative people _______some special bicycles.

2.Bambikes are made of an unusual kind of bamboo and other materials, such as ______.

3.The company plants more bamboo than it cuts in order ______.

4.Frank Dose created the world’s heaviest bicycle just because of _____.
