A group of swans flew down to a beach where a crow (烏鴉) was jumping around. The crow watched them with disdain (鄙視) .
"You have no flying skills at all!" he said to the swans. "All you can do is to move your wings. Can you turn over in the air? No,that's beyond you. Let's have a flying competition. I'll show you what real flying is!"
One of the swans,a strong young male, took up the challenge. The crow flew up and began to show off his skills. He flew in circles, performed other flying tricks, and then came down and looked proudly at the vswan.
Now it was the swan's turn. He flew up,and began flying over the sea. The crow flew after him, making all kinds of comments (評(píng)價(jià)) about his flying. The swan pretended (假裝) not to notice and said, "Why do you keep touching the water, brother? Is that another trick?"
"No," said the crow. He knew he had lost the competition. "I'm in trouble because of my pride! If you don't help me,Fll lose my life..."

Hi Amy, |
It is a common problem with children from all countries,so I know that you are not alone. Here's my 3 for you. |
My first idea is: Why are you still living at home? |
At your age it is time for you 4 (learn) life. Did you think about getting a job in another area of your country? This |
would be fine without causing a problem with your parents. Doing like this will cause 5 (few) problems with them. |
Another idea: How about 6 (move) in with a relative? Get a job in that area and then, move out and get your own place. |
You cannot be independent when under your parents' roof. You are their little girl and will be the rest of your life. They |

Some of the greatest problems we face today are the destruction (破壞) of our environment, such as brown clouds, polluted water, endangered wild animals . . . These problems seem so huge.
So my family do what we can do. We take cloth bags to stores instead of using plastic bags. If we can walk to a place,we never drive there.
But does it do any good? When I am the only one in line at the market with cloth bags,am I doing any good? Does my walking to stores make any real differences to the world?
I recently learned something about flamingos (火烈鳥(niǎo)) which like to get together in groups of a thousand or more. Every year, when the time for migration (遷徙) comes,a few of them first take off from the lake. But none of the others seem to notice,so the small group returns. However, next day they try again. This time a few more fly along with them, but most of the others still pay no attention,so they return again. They try several times. Every time a few more birds join in,but since thousands of others still take no notice, the great migration plan is once more stopped.
Then one day something changes. The same small group of birds once again starts flying and a small number more join in just as before, then more. Finally, they all take flight and the migration really begins. What a spectacular sight it must be―thousands of flamingos taking off into the sky at the same time!
A few can make a difference. Even if you're the one to take the first step, continue trying and others will some day take notice and together we will solve even our greatest problems.
